SyncFoods POS — Privacy Policy

SyncFoods POS ("the app") is a point-of-sale application for restaurants and shops, published by SyncFoods. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and how it is handled.

The app is offline-first. It runs and records sales entirely on your device. An internet connection is used only for licence activation, subscription payment, and — if enabled — sending sales figures to the business owner's own reporting portal.

Information stored on your device

Your menu, tables, staff PINs, customers (name and phone), and sales records — stored in the app's private local database on the device.
Printer settings and app preferences.

This data stays on the device and is not accessible to other apps.

Information sent to our server

When the device is online and the business has a licence, the app sends the following to pos.syncfoods.com (operated by SyncFoods):

Licence key and a device identifier — to activate and verify the subscription.
Sales figures — order totals, items sold, payment method, and the staff member who made the sale — so the business owner can see reports in their web portal. Customer name and phone may be included where a sale is linked to a customer.

This information is transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. It is used only to provide licensing and the owner's reporting, and is not sold or shared with third parties, except our payment provider (bKash) for processing subscription payments.

Permissions

Internet — licence activation, subscription payment, and report sync.
Bluetooth — to print receipts and kitchen tickets to a thermal printer.

The app does not access your location, contacts, camera, photos, or microphone, and contains no advertising.

Payments

Subscription payments are handled by bKash. The app does not store card or bank details.

Data retention & deletion

Sales data on the device is kept until you clear it or uninstall the app. Data sent to the owner's portal is retained for their business records. To request deletion of data held on our server, contact us at the address below and reference your licence key.

Children

SyncFoods POS is a business tool and is not directed at children.

Changes

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
